How to Wear your Watch Pin

Usually worn by ladies, watch pins have been around for several centuries and are still used today as a pretty alternative to watch chains. Watch pins can be made of any type material and engraved or set with stones. The back of the pin has a small hook or loop that is used to hook the bow of the watch on to and can be worn on any blouse, sweater, etc. Watch pins were even used in mourning attire with the pins being enameled black or made from gutta percha or bog oak. Pins were manafactured all the way into the early 1940's with many beautiful styles coming from the Art Deco period, some with matching earrings. The most collectible, however, usually date from the Victorian or Edwardian periods.
